Biodiversity action plans launched

As part of our commitment to protecting native flora and fauna, RTCA has recently developed biodiversity action plans for the Bowen Basin region of Queensland and the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.

“Both regions are recognised and valued for their biodiversity resources, and are home to a number of vulnerable, threatened and endangered plant and animal species,” general manager - Health Safety and Environment Rory Gordon said.

“What we have done is develop a proactive and coordinated approach to direct, monitor and review the effective management of key biodiversity features of all of our land holdings.

“These plans will help improve our overall knowledge and understanding of the biodiversity setting in  the regions in which we operate, and assist us to make a positive contribution to the management  and preservation of biodiversity.

“Effective environmental stewardship is a critical factor for our continued business success.”
