The Goal is Zero

A new campaign to remind us of the real reason why our goal is zero harm has been launched across Rio Tinto Coal Australia.

'The Goal is Zero' is a health, safety and environment campaign, led by Managing Director Hubie van Dalsen, to reduce the number of incidents occurring in our workforce and impacting our communities.

"Billboards and posters featuring photographs of our employees will be displayed at all of our sites to promote the campaign to employees, contractors and visitors," Hubie said.

"The photographs show employees at home and in their communities as well as on site, reminding all of us that the real reason we need to be safe is not just about work.

"The real reason the goal is zero is so we come home to our friends and families safe and healthy at the end of each working day."

The Safety Leadership Development Programme is the first initiative to be launched as part of 'The Goal is Zero'.

Leaders from all Rio Tinto Coal Australia sites will be invited to participate in the programme, which outlines tools and behaviours to promote our goal of zero injuries.
